Taylor-Made Solutions, PLLC - Divorce Mediation Services
The Mediation Process

Here's how it works:

  • Lisa Taylor sits down with you both to help resolve every issue in your divorce while minimizing conflict: child custody, child support, parenting time, property division and alimony.
  • Lisa acts as a neutral party, guiding the discussions and helping you stay focused and rational to identify options and find solutions "taylor-made" for your situation.
  • She gives legal information and oversees the exchange of information regarding your property.
  • The mediation contract requires the disclosure of all information, so you negotiate with one another in confidence, knowing you are working with the same base of knowledge.
  • You thoroughly discuss the issues and the reasons for each decision.  Each of you has the opportunity to speak your mind; no decision is made until it is acceptable to you both.
  • Once you reach agreement, Lisa drafts a binding divorce settlement agreement.
  • Lisa is an attorney, so she can also draft your court documents.   She will not represent you in court but will write out your agreements in the forms necessary for Michigan court approval.
  • The court proceeding is simplified, all conflict having been resolved.
  • The judge enters a Judgment of Divorce that incorporates the settlement agreement to finalize the divorce.
  • Lisa is available to help you with post-divorce disagreements regarding parenting time, co-parenting or implementing the property division.

Taylor-Made Solutions charges $150.00 per hour per couple ($75 per person, per hour, if you pay separately). There is no retainer and the initial phone consultations are free. Lisa conducts an in-depth phone screening with each of you (free of charge) to determine if mediation is appropriate for your divorce case.
